Re:Lax Designs features jewels, style and art reinvented by edgy NYC fine artist, Lorraine Lax. Her diverse career as creative director of graphic design projects/writer combined with fine art accomplishments further includes the design of reclaimed, Repurposed, REnewed, reinvented, reThought, reBORN or sometimes new Lost & refound objects.
Always pushing the boundaries of the traditional, she has sold her artwork to collectors and shown in galleries in Orlando, Miami, Palm Beach, New Orleans and Paris. She just loves to collect, inspect and reflect, a natural extension of her painterly spirit, to reinvent found objects. She is now willing to part with some of her treasures as she’s on a journey to simplify and grow.
What you’ll find… everything from jewels, small furniture, and handmade journals to vintage boxes, restyled purses and collage/outsider art.
She will be featuring selections from Refind, the trade name for Beth Sheerin, an established commercial interior designer who specialized in themed retail design for high profile clients such as Disney’s Imagineering, Estée Lauder and Macy's. Throughout her career, she developed a love of texture reflected in unusual items such as quilted travel journals and mosaics artfully renewed. Her travels to Haiti and the North Carolina mountains inspired her environmental awareness. Beth is on a mission to do her part in protecting the planet by upcycling just about everything you can think of and turning it into something beautiful, functional or both.
